I'm a photographer based in Christchurch (New Zealand).
I'm french, but I live in the Canterbury since June 2023. Why did I go so far away? Because we only have one life...
In France I was a Spanish Teacher. For 15 years I had the chance to work in a profession that was also a passion. But when I found out we were going to go to New Zealand for my husband's job, I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to pursue my other passion: photography. It’s a job that really appealed to me. I have always taken a lot of photos during my many trips around the world. I also photographed those around me. Capturing moments is something that has always been a part of me... This is my way of expressing myself.
I am what you can call a nostalgic person. I have this thing with memories... Since I was little. I love freezing moments, so I can “relive” them. Now, it’s your story that I want to capture! And I feel so grateful to be able to do this for others... So after traveling 19,000km with my husband and our three children, here I am!
Laurie
I am SENSITIVE, dreamer, attentive to others, complaining, funny, perfectionist, benevolent, INTUITIVE, impatient, organized, NOSTALGIC, empathetic, a person who anticipates, indecisive, impulsive, friendly, SMILING, independent, observer.
My children, my husband, traveling, mojitos, memories, watching tornado videos, dancing, hearing the rain falling, writing, Lana del Rey, the smell of cut grass, humor, Friends, taking photos, rock and folk music, Frida Kahlo, writing on post-its, salsa, silence, the movie Mommy, storms, wolves, collecting semi-precious stones, having a clean house, head massages, speaking Spanish, the smell of cooking garlic, spirituality, lakes surrounded by pine trees, seeing messages everywhere, listening to people talk, summer evenings, laughing with my friends, throwing birthday parties for my kids, the crackling of a fireplace, Jurassic Park, vintage toys.
intolerance, clutter, mushrooms, spiders, losing things, repeating, doing like the others, people who have no sense of humor, my voice, stepping on a Lego lying around, losing weight, dirtiness, people who talk too much, being cold at home, when people bother my children, mouth noises when people eat, seeing children suffer, people who complain, wasting my time.
There is a quote from Dragan Tapshanov that speaks to me a lot and represents everything I love about photography : “Photography is about capturing souls, not smiles”.
A beautiful photo is much more than a smile. It's a sensation. It’s a feeling.
From the moment I first met Laurie she made me feel comfortable and at ease. She gently guided my baby and I throughout the session and was always checking to see if we were both comfortable. When I first opened the gallery I was blown away. The way she was able to capture our precious memories exceeded my expectations. I couldn't recommend her more and can't wait to have another session with her!

Laurie is an incredibly talented photographer. From start to finish, communication was on point. Laurie was incredibly accommodating to make sure we had the perfect evening for our family session. She has an absolute passion for her craft and created a true connection with our toddlers. A common question in our house now from our 4 year old is ‘when are we seeing Laurie again?’ Genuine fun and connection was captured in our photos. We are beyond thrilled with the result of our gallery and looking forward to our next session with Laurie!
Laurie is an incredible photographer that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her. She is like a friend you’ve always known, very easygoing and fun to work with! She captures the moments so beautifully and turns even foggy misty weather in her advantage. Extremely flexible and adaptable to the circumstances, she is just the best at what she does! Can totally recommend!
